Henry | Pets

So if you don't already know, I've been getting more into pet photography recently after starting up Fur Friends Fotography.  Until recently though, all my experience photographing animals had been either mine or at the shelters and rescues FFF works with.  Then I was contacted about a personal pet photo session.  But not just any pet session, this one was very special.

I received a phone call from the mom of 3 sweet fur babies that she wanted to get photographed, one of them in particular.

Henry was diagnosed with cancer, and had put up a tremendous fight.  He had many, many wonderful years in a loving home with his humans and his two fur brothers, all rescues.  His parents knew his fight would be ending soon, so wanted to have some quality photos of him.

I spent well over an hour rolling in the grass with these three wonderful dogs (getting totally covered in drool in the process) and getting to know them and their mom, Sarah.

I'm so glad Sarah contacted me when she did, and that I got to meet this sweet canine.  While I was finishing up the edits from this session, I received an email from Sarah that darling Henry passed.  You will be missed dear boy, and I know your family will cherish your portraits.

Nakeisha & Kedija | Senior

One thing I offer to ALL of my seniors is a free mini session after their 3-4 hour portrait session.  This mini session can be used for a few more photos in a different season, or an additional location we couldn't get to previously (hint hint college campus ;) hint hint) or for an event, like a sports game, club activity, graduation or grad party.

These two ladies, who are cousins, both not only took advantage of their additional session, but did theirs together to get some sweet "best friends" shots.

We had a ton of fun walking all over the tiny but beautiful town of Kalama before venturing down to the beach where these brave girls actually dove into the water!

Jordan & Geoff | Engagement

So, for those of you who know me personally, you know big cities scare me.  I grew up in a small town, and moved to an even smaller town. No joke, we have two stoplights here.  I love it.

Portland is so close, and has so much to offer.  The photo opportunities are endless, I always find myself thinking "I wish I had my camera!" when I'm down there (with someone else behind the wheel of course, I don't do traffic very well lol), but haven't actually made it down there with a photography purpose.  Until this engagement session.

Geoff has been a long-time friend of my sisters, and I was so touched when he contacted me for some portraits of him and his fiancee.  Especially since they live in Ohio!!  They were coming back to the Pacific Northwest for a short trip, and were hoping we could meet up during their visit for a photo shoot.

Geoff's father works at Reed College in Portland, and he thought it would be a good venue for their shoot.  And yes, yes it was!  I'm so glad I was able to venture into Portland and discover a little part of it's beauty.

Congratulations again, Jordan and Geoff!!

Jessica & Terry | Wedding

This May I had the honor of photographing the wedding of a high school friend.  Jessica and Terry had a gorgeous wedding at the lovely Lucy's Garden in Ridgefield, WA.  It was very casual and was planned perfectly down to the smallest details.   Me and my team had a lot of fun, and wish these two a lifetime of happiness!

Tessa & Anthony | Children

When my long-time friend called me to take Easter photos of her kids, I was thrilled!  They are so sweet, and just adorable!

Unfortunately, I had a computer error, and lost most of the images for their session :(  Luckily, we were able to re-shoot, and I'm glad we did!  I feel bad for losing their photos, but we got some amazing shots the second round that we didn't get before.

This sweetie is Tessa.  Isn't she just adorable?!  Her grandmother crocheted that colorful sweater for her!

And this image below of her is my current favorite, oh my goodness.......

This this handsome young gentleman is Anthony!  He makes you earn his smiles, and they are so worth it!!

And dear Tessa wrote me a darling thank you note for taking their photos!

Can't wait until I get to hang out with them again!

Welcome Tryton | Newborn

I met this little family awhile ago, and have enjoyed getting to know them.  Especially adorable RayLeigh! She's so incredibly sweet and loves having her photo taken :)

I was so excited when they approached my about maternity photographs, and again for newborn portraits.

This little man put up quite the fight, did not want to leave Mommy's belly!  But he finally made his debut on March 23rd, at just after 8pm.

And was a whopping 8 pounds!  Look at this tiny little fingers and toes <3

He's such a handsome little gentleman, so tolerant of my camera in his face :)

So glad I got to meet Tryton, and can't wait to watch him grow up <3

P.S. Check out this rockin' onsie ;)

Welcome John Luke | Newborn

I've been photographing the Allison family for awhile now, and they are always up for any of my sometimes-out-there ideas.  So when they contacted me to build a special photo package to photograph their pregnancy announcement through baby's first birthday, I was thrilled!

When I heard that little John Luke had arrived, I was SO excited to meet him!  And what a sweet little man.  He was so peaceful even when he was awake.

And just look at all of that hair!

Honestly, as I was preparing for the session, I was incredibly nervous.  Not only had I not held a newborn in easily a year, I hadn't photographed a newborn for almost two years.  Heck, my "baby" is almost 7 now.  But as soon as they arrived and I got to cuddle this love bug, I felt a whole lot better.

Ahhh little fingers and toes <3<3<3

For my first newborn session since considering myself an actual photographer, I'm pretty proud of my photos!

And just look at his beautiful momma :)

I'm so glad to have met this family and get to capture their memories for them to keep for always.

And as much as I adore this precious baby face, I can't wait to see the little man John Luke grows up to be!
